Romantic Indie Wedding Inspiration with Chug-a-Lug Wagon
Last month we ventured over to a friend’s private creekside residence on Johns Island, SC for an editorial shoot featuring a romantic indie wedding ceremony and intimate reception. We teamed up with our sister company, Chug-a-Lug Wagon, and a group of kindred spirits to capture the magic of love in the lowcountry at golden hour.
Thank goodness Hazel Eyes Photography was able and willing to collaborate on this project because they were our first (and only) pick! Need a dose of inspiration? Go check out their portfolio of work, it'll give you ALL the feels.
The traditional “Southern Lowcountry Wedding” isn’t all Charleston has to offer so the vision behind this editorial shoot was to showcase just that! We sought help from one of our fav local planners, Cayleigh of The Petal Report, to help us get the job done! Our design theme was “hauntingly romantic, moody + avant-garde” with an objective to instantly pull the reader in when viewing the images.
For the ceremony design we aimed to keep it simple - as to not overshadow the dramtic beauty of the marshland. Organic elements such as the woven macreme backdrop and hanging dream catchers added movement to the space, while the vintage persian rug and mismatched wood chairs provided a casual elegance.
Wardrobe for the wedding party drew from a palette of blush, dusty mauve, and tan. Each look was styled with a unique flare and incorporated garments from Frenchie Vintage (aka my side husstle business)! The magnificent Wild Ivory Beauty pulled together each look with a natural hair and makup.
One very, very cute mobile bar sparked the whole concept for this photoshoot as our very own, Theresa Dulken (co-owner of The French Eclectic), launches her brand new biz - The Chug-a-Lug Wagon!
This pint-sized novelty is a fully customizable mobile bar that serves a medley of beer, wine, prosecco + non-alcoholic bubbly. With 6 separate taps, your taste buds can run wild cuz this 'lil wagon will single handedly bring the party!
A big thanks to the creative team listed below who offered up their time and talents to make this vision come to life! xoxo
